Overview

The Langtang Region Trek ranks third in popularity of Nepal’s trekking destinations and is one of the most accessible to Kathmandu Valley. People with less time but looking for a major trek often choose Langtang. The region lies between the city and Nepal’s northern border with the Tibetan Frontier. It features all the thrills and adventure of trekking, including Himalayan view, ancient monasteries, a cheese factory and cozy lodging.

Gosainkunda (4381 Meters) is a sacred, high mountain lake believed by Hindus to have created by Shiva himself. It is a major pilgrimage destination, especially during the full moon festival of August and September when many devotees arrive. Shamans also travel then to these highlands to renew their powers.
